CME Session: Post Leprosy Elimination and Re-emergence of Leprosy in HIV/AIDS Era
The Kenya National AIDS/STIs Control Programme periodically hosts Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions on the management of HIV and related opportunistic infections. This presentation, held on 20 April 2012 in Nairobi, focuses on what needs to be done to reach the desired goals, towards a Kenya without Leprosy. It presents New Cases of Leprosy as well as cases registered by the end of years 1986-2011. In addition, it outlines ways of reducing the leprosy prevalence, diagnosis, treatment which involves a multi drug therapy and how to manage disabilities. Leprosy and HIV/AIDS is also highlighted and reasons to integrate leprosy into general health service are discussed. Click here to download the presentation
